An agent you can't govern is a production liability, not an asset.

Lyzr's control plane connects to external agents, including those built on LangChain, through a lightweight SDK and an API-first integration.

It wraps your existing agent with governance policies. You don't have to rebuild or migrate it.

This is the job of OpenController by Lyzr, a neutral control plane that works across agent frameworks.

A control plane is the layer that governs everything beneath it. For AI agents, OpenController provides that central point of command and observation.

The Connection and Governance Flow

Connecting an external agent is a process of registration and interception, not migration.

A sequence showing a LangChain agent instrumented with the Lyzr SDK, registered in the Agent Registry with its function and endpoint, and then routed through the OpenController control plane.
  1. Instrument with the SDK.
You add Lyzr's lightweight, framework-agnostic SDK to your existing agent's code. This isn't a rewrite.

It’s a few lines to wrap your agent's execution loop. This SDK becomes the hook for telemetry and control signals.

  2. Register the Agent.
Your agent uses the SDK to register itself with OpenController's central Agent Registry.

This tells the control plane that your agent exists, what its function is, and where its endpoint lives.

The registry goes far beyond simple telemetry ingestion; it’s the foundation for true agent-to-agent (A2A) orchestration.

  3. Route through the Control Plane.
All invocations and outbound tool calls from your agent are now routed through OpenController. It acts as an intelligent proxy.

This is where governance happens. Policies for data handling, tool access, and cost controls are enforced before the agent acts.

  4. Observe and Audit.
As the agent runs, the SDK sends detailed traces, logs, and metrics back to the control plane.

You get a complete, end-to-end view of every action, even when one agent calls another.

This provides the audit trail needed for security reviews and performance monitoring.

Your Stack, Our Governance

This model means your agents can stay on their own stack.

A hub diagram where agents on Azure, on-premises and GCP connect through the same integration pattern to one OpenController control plane that governs them.

Whether you built an agent on LangChain running in Azure, or a custom agent deployed on-premises or inside your own GCP environment, the integration pattern is the same.

OpenController decouples the agent's business logic from its operational governance.

You build the agent. We give you the controls to run it safely in production.

The Takeaway

You don't need to choose between using standard agent frameworks and having enterprise-grade governance.

OpenController by Lyzr was designed to retrofit control onto any agent, on any platform, without forcing a rebuild. It allows you to keep the tools you like while adding the safety your organization requires.
